Originally an Oxford duo, the 4-piece Clamheads formed in 1988 with Mike Hughes (guitar), Ian Nixon (bass & vocals), Gary Payne (drums) and Matthew Tanner (guitar & vocals). The Clamheads played mostly in London and Oxford and released a 12-inch EP, Summer’s Coming Down, in 1989.
